Pahang Sultan lauds PM Satu Malaysia

Pahang Sultan lauds PM’s Satu Malaysia

Unity among the races must be strengthened to enable the country to continue enjoying peace and harmony, the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, said.
He said national integration and unity were the only way Malaysia, particularly the state of Pahang, could move forward to face global challenges.
“I hope mutual respect for one another will be instilled and preserved in the state at all times.
“In this regard, I hope the aspiratons of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to achieve his concept of Satu Malaysia will be realised,” he said in his speech when opening the 12th state assembly sitting here Monday.
Sultan Ahmad Shah also said that without an effective public delivery system, all the Government’s strategies and development programmes would not be accomplished.
He said as such, all civil servants should be committed and serve with sincerity to ensure these programmes succeed for the benefit of the people.
“I also hope all assemblymen will carry out their work diligently to address all problems in their respective constituencies.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Najib as the Prime Minister of Malaysia,” he said, adding that Najib had the abilities of a good leader to weather the present political crisis and the effects of the global economic downturn.
He expressed his gratitude to the Government for approving RM256.3mil to finance 1,270 projects under the first stimulus package and another RM808.4mil to carry out 119 projects under the second package in the state.
“The allocation is not inclusive of RM1.4bil under the 9th Malaysia Plan to finance 1,612 development projects,” he said.
Sultan Ahmad Shah also said he was happy that the state government would continue with plans to eradicate hardcore poverty and urged the state, under the leadership of Mentri Besar Adnan Yaakob, to continue giving assistance and priority to the poor, single mothers, orphans and the handicapped.Melayu Boleh
